Meet the Members: Kathryn

I joined JW Fitness in August 2021 for a few reasons. One reason was due to lockdown during Covid as l found myself getting into terrible eating habits with minimal exercise or not even a thought to motivate myself to exercise.

The second reason, l reached my forties and, as some might relate, found my hormones changing. This affected my mood and my body. I needed to occupy my mind more to release that hormone change!


So whilst browsing on Facebook, l saw a post about J W Fitness.


I had trained with John in the past when he was starting his career as an independent trainer.


I contacted him, set up a consultation and began my fitness journey.


To begin with, l knew nobody in my sessions. l had no idea what most of the exercises were. l couldn't even manage two press ups let alone do two squats or burpees but today I can so many different lifts and types of cardio.

The improvement in my body and mind is amazing. I feel stronger.


As for the staff, John and Anthony are both professional, experienced, approachable, knowledgeable and really know how to push you to your limits without aggressive mannerism.


They genuinely care about each person who trains in the gym. Mel is brilliant at organising meal ideas and social events. She keeps in contact with clients regarding membership matters and admin-related issues.


So in conclusion to my essay! I enjoy attending the gym. I look forward to training with people and working with Anthony. Each session is something new and each month the sessions work on different areas.


If you have any health problems or injuries, these are addressed and sessions are adapted to meet those needs.


It is fun to attend and you leave feeling like you have achieved something.
