How long have you worked at JW Fitness?
'I have worked at JW fitness for 1 year now.'
Why did you join JW Fitness?
'I joined JW fitness as an aspiring coach, having heard through word of mouth that JW Fitness held a high standard for coaching and that another trainer was needed so i got in contact with John and applied.'
What do you like most about working at JW Fitness?
'I enjoy working with the clients and helping push them to work to their full potential. On testing week, many people achieve new personal records which is always exciting and rewarding to see as a coach as it shows how all the hard work they have put in has paid off. I have also appreciated all the knowledge and experience have gained working alongside other successful coaches giving me a better understanding of how training works.'
Describe a typical work day at JW Fitness.
'I arrive for work before the first sessions begin to get everyone's log books out and ensure the gym is tidy. The morning sessions run smoothly with high energy . There is a break period to get food and a drink to keep energy up for the last session. Then I arrive for the evening sessions early again to repeat the mornings tasks before running through the sessions. At some periods I go into the office area to do some of my education work as I am still a new coach.'
What’s the one professional achievement you’re most proud of?
'For a period I had a 1-2-1 client who I wrote sessions for, I helped her further her strength whilst working around her knee that struggled with hyperextension. The training we did helped improve her knee which she commented on herself. '
Tell us what interests you most about fitness and well-being.
I'n my experience, my fitness journey has greatly improved my confidence outside and inside of the gym. It always results in a great feeling when I finish a session. It's also helped me build discipline in my diet and making sure I attend the gym even when feeling a bit low. Training for me gives me a sense of purpose and direction in life.'
Tell us about your own fitness journey and future goals.
'In my fitness journey I have successfully built up muscle and strength as well as losing body fat when I noticed it creeping up. In the future I would like to hit some personal strength goals I have set for myself as well as building up even more discipline by furthering my training and diet intensity and consistency. I also have goals in sports such as Thai boxing which includes a different kind of training to the kind I am used to pushing me further.'
What’s the best piece of advice you can offer to someone who is thinking about getting a Personal Trainer?
'I would advise being open with your trainer about your goals and how disciplined you can be. Also giving 100% in all your sessions will help you see the results you desire and overall feel the best you can about yourself. It is certainly worth getting a professional coach to ensure you are training safely and efficiently to help you work towards your full potential as a person.'
Finally, in a zombie apocalypse, which member of the JW Fitness team would you want with you at all times?
'If I lived through a zombie apocalypse I would want Anthony with me at all times as I think he looks a little like a zombie so hopefully with a little face paint for myself we could pass as zombies ourselves and avoid being eaten.'
