How long have you worked at JW FItness?

'7 Months.'

Why did you join JW Fitness?

'I wanted to combine my interest in fitness with my passion for helping others to achieve their goals. Having worked as a horse riding instructor, I wanted to transfer my coaching skills to something, meet a variety of people in the local area and contribute to their fitness journey.'

What do you like most about working at JW Fitness?

'The community atmosphere. No matter who you are, you can fit right into a session at JW Fitness, train with any combination of other members and still get a great session in. We are much more than just a gym.'

Describe a typical work day at JW Fitness.

'Wake up at 5am, have my breakfast at work before starting Team Training at 6am. Once Semi PT sessions finish at 10:30am, I’ll get a workout in myself (5 days of the week) or head to the farm to ride the horse I compete, Molly. I'll go home to shower, eat some lunch and have a rest (sometimes a nap) before being back in work for 4pm. Once sessions finish at 8pm, I’ll go home get some tea and play with my dog Millie. I’ll then watch some TV or read a book for half an hour, before going to bed around 10pm, ready to do it all again tomorrow!'

Tell us what interests you most about fitness and well-being.

'The fact that fitness isn’t one size fits all, and that there’s a training style for everyone: it’s just a matter of finding what it is!'

Tell us about your own fitness journey and future goals.

'In the last year, I have become much more consistent with my own training. I will complete 5 training sessions a week: 3 lower body and 2 upper body. I would like to retain this consistency and continue to get stronger and build muscle- really see what I am capable of! I would also like to branch my fitness journey out into some other types I am less familiar with.

I am also a competitive cheerleader, and will be competing internationally in 2024, so am working to improve my technique in that sport.'

What’s the best piece of advice you can offer to someone who is thinking about getting a Personal Trainer?

'You will never regret investing in your health! Even if you are unsure, pop in for a chat: you may be surprised by what we are able to do for you. '

Finally, what’s your biggest phobia?

'Spiders! I ran screaming from the chin up rack when I found one on there while demonstrating. One of the members had to save me from it (Thanks Lynsey)!'
